CCRH's 4-day intensive training in Conflict Resolution and Clinical-Setting Mediation provides basic skills for addressing conflict throughout healthcare, and is appropriate for administrators, physicians, nurses, ethics committees, legal counsel, chaplains, social workers, patient advocates, risk managers, security staff and others. Trainings are ordinarily held online. Alternatively, special trainings can be arranged in-house at your facility. In-house trainings have included University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (Little Rock), St. Jude Children's Research Center (Memphis), Children's Mercy Hospital (Kansas City), American University of Beirut Medical Center (Lebanon), International College (Beirut), Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne (Australia), University of Melbourne (Australia), The Ohio State University Medical Center, and Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

Beyond the Training: Building Conflict Skills That Stick

Training like this changes how you see conflict. But the real work starts when you walk back onto the unit, into the meeting, or through the front door at home. That is where the skills get tested.

I co-lead this training because I have lived both sides of healthcare conflict. Drawing on decades as a critical care nurse, I saw firsthand what happens when communication breaks down under pressure. It does not just affect morale. It affects patient safety, staff retention, and the well-being of everyone on the team. That is why I became a conflict management professional. Not to resolve conflict for people, but to help them build the skills to navigate it themselves.
